The upcoming flagship of Samsung that most of rumors mention as Galaxy S6 is the most discussed unannounced device of the company in leaks and gossips in the last couple months. Back in December the rumor mill delivered some leaks and details about another smartphone coming from Samsung with low-end specs – Samsung J1. The handset is not officially announced yet; however it just appeared in a Russian online store along with more information about its features, specs and price. The screen of the Samsung J1 is with 4.3-inch diagonal and 800 x 480p resolution. When we do the math, the pixel density of the display is 217ppi.
The exterior of the phone features wide bezels, a tad wider than most of the modern smartphones of this class released by rival companies. The hardware packed in the phone includes a processor with four cores, ticking at 1.2GHz with Marvell PXA1908 chipset (64-bit architecture), and 1GB RAM. The limited 4GB storage by default can be expanded by adding microSD cards. The pre-installed software on the Samsung J1 is Android 4.4 KitKat. The cameras armored in the phone are a 5MP primary rare sensor with autofocus. The website reveals that the handset features the same camera on the front panel as well. There is a 1850mAh cell in the gut of the device. Samsung is bringing two variants of the Samsung J1 – one of the models supports LTE connectivity while the other will lack the 4G LTE. There will be two versions of the phone in terms of support for SIM cards – single SIM and dual-SIM versions.
The Russian retailer has listed the Samsung J1 at price of Russian rubles 10990 (around $171) unlocked. The phone is coming to markets on 23rd of January. The colors that adorn the model are black and white.
