YotaPhone 2 is endowed with two displays – an AMOLED one on the back side and another screen –e-ink on the back side. It is available for purchase since the end of 2014. Back then the YotaPhone 2 was introduced only in Europe. The guys from Android Central shared the news that Yota has confirmed that the extraordinary smartphone is coming to the US. It is still unknown which carriers and retailers will sell the model. The expectations suggest that it will be launched by the mobile operators T-Mobile or AT&T in the country. Yota is not giving clues for the price of the model for the States yet.
A quick reminder of the specs of YotaPhone 2 includes a 5-inch AMOLED screen set on the face panel with a 1080p resolution and pixel density of 441ppi. On the back plate of the phone is provided with 960 x 540p, e-ink with a diagonal of 4.7-inch. A quad-core CPU with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset powers the dual-screen phone with the support of 2GB RAM. It has 32GB native memory.
YotaPhone 2 features an 8MP main camera with LED flash, autofocus and the capabilities to record 1080p. On the front panel lies a 2MP sensor. Android 4.4 KitKat is the software running on the handset. It is equipped with a 2550mAh battery. It supports GSM, HSPA, LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity features. Among the unique capabilities of the model are the YotaEnergy and YotaSnap. The Yota Energy feature switches the functions of the device to the e-ink display which is energy-efficient when the battery life drops to 15 percent. This feature provides additional 8.5 hours battery life to the phone. The Yota Snap makes it easy to transfer files and information, such as maps, tickets etc to the rare panel (e-ink) that remains turned-on even if your battery dies.
The new YotaPhone will be released in the CIS countries and across the Middle East, as well as in countries in Latin America and in Canada.
