Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime is among the latest additions to the company. It is armored with a 5-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. The new handset is outfitted with elegant design and body that measures 144.8 x 72.1 x 8.6mm. Its weight is 156 grams. The Galaxy Grand Prime brings excellent performance with its quad-core silicon with Cortex-A7 clocked at 1.2GHz. It is working along with 1GB RAM and works with Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip. It has 8GB built-in memory that can be expanded to up to 64 GB via microSD cards.
The operating system that runs on Galaxy Grand Prime out of the box is the 4.4 KitKat update of Android with TouchWiz UI running on it. On the rare panel of the new handset is outfitted an 8MP camera sensor with LED flash. It can record video with a resolution of 1080p. On the front panel is provided the main advantage of the model – 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. The vice president, marketing, Mobile&IT of Samsung India, Asim Warsi shared that “Introducing the new trend of ‘Groupfie’, Galaxy Grand Prime features an advanced wide angle front camera best-suited to capture group images.”
The Galaxy Grand Prime supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 3G connectivity capabilities. In the gut of the smartphone lies a 2600mAh cell. It is a dual-SIM device with dual standby capabilities. The model comes in two colors – black and white. The first market where the selfie-orientated phone is launching is India. It will be available for purchase in the end of the week. The costs for the phone are INR 154999 (around $280) for the unlocked device. The Galaxy Grand Prime will be provided by the major online merchants and stores for mobile devices. Overall the price for the phone is reasonable for its capabilities and features. It supports 14 different languages and comes with impressive 5MP snapper for selfies.
