On United Airlines flights, T-Mobile users now have access to free in-flight streaming and Wi-Fi when available

For T-Mobile users who are traveling with United, “airplane mode” has a whole new meaning. On selected domestic and short-haul international United flights, qualified T-Mobile customers now have access to complimentary in-flight Wi-Fi and streaming, when available. United joins American, Alaska, and Delta airlines in offering Un-carrier users the opportunity to text, email, search, and stream wherever it is available, now on four of the top U.S. airlines, as the newest addition to Coverage Beyond — T-most Mobile’s recent Un-carrier move.

“Now, T-Mobile customers can stay connected from takeoff to landing and beyond on hundreds more flights, now including United Airlines!” said Mike Sievert, CEO of T-Mobile. “This latest expansion of Coverage Beyond is all part of our goal to keep customers connected even outside the signal of our network, and we’re on a nonstop mission to find new ways to make that happen.”

With over a third of Americans planning trips over the next three months, the trend is anticipated to continue through fall and through the holiday season after one of the busiest summer travel seasons in recent memory. Additionally, T-Mobile will make customers’ travel arrangements hassle- and worry-free by keeping them connected when on the road, in the air, and abroad.

“Whether it’s for business or leisure, we know staying connected in the air is important, and we’re excited many of T-Mobile’s customers will experience our free inflight Wi-Fi on their phones when flying United,” said Grant Milstead, United’s Vice President of Digital Technology. “With the free in-flight coverage, customers can take advantage of Wi-Fi to text their family and friends or browse their favorite sites and apps.”

Being a T-Mobile user right now is the smartest decision you can make, not the least of which is the company’s leading travel advantages. Magenta MAX customers also receive free access to Apple TV+ on Us, Netflix on Us, a free year of AAA on Us, Scam Shield Premium, and more, for a total of $225 in free benefits per month for families. This is in addition to receiving access to the country’s largest, fastest, and most reliable 5G network. Customers at T-Mobile come for the service and stay for the perks, and the Un-carrier won’t stop bringing them new extras.

Customers who subscribe to Magenta MAX, Business Unlimited Ultimate, or comparable Sprint plans receive 5GB of free high-speed data each month in 215+ countries and destinations as part of Coverage Beyond. And if possible, that does offer speeds of up to 5G. Additionally, customers will receive free connection for the duration of four eligible flights of their choice each year, unlimited 256kbps connectivity in all of those locations, and a free hour for each additional eligible flight on the Magenta, Business Unlimited Advanced, and comparable Sprint plans. The final word? Everyone benefits. Additionally, qualifying T-Mobile for Business customers in Mexico and Canada who choose Magenta, Magenta MAX, or both receive 5GB of high-speed data per month as well as free talking and texting.

With Wi-Fi powered by Viasat and Thales InFlyt Experience, Coverage Beyond debuts on United’s 737, MAX8, MAX9, select 757-300, and select A319 aircraft. More flights and Wi-Fi partners will be added soon.
