The arrival of the new Nexus phone and Nexus tablet is one of the biggest events for this month. Yesterday, on 15th of October, Google and its two partnering companies, HTC and Motorola officially introduced the HTC Nexus 9 tablet and the Motorola Nexus 6.
The new smartphone of Google is accompanied by a new tablet courtesy of HTC. The HTC Nexus 9 slate arrives with a 8.9-inch screen IPS LCD with a resolution of 1536 x 2048p. It is endowed with a Tegra K1 64-bit chip clocked at 2.3GH and 2GB RAM. The internal memory is with two options – either 16GB or 32GB. The main camera in Nexus 9 is with 8MP resolution, set on the back. On the face panel is found a 1.6MP camera. It is armored with a 6700mAh battery under the hood. The update running on the tablet is the newly launched Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The new smartphone is actually a large phablet with an impressive AMOLED screen with 5.96-inch diagonal, 1440 x 2560p. The Nexus 6 is the biggest handset in the Nexus line until today. The processor that is armored in the phablet is a quad-core CPU 2.7GHz with Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip. It has the privilege to be among the first devices that arrive with Android 5.0 Lollipop running on it. The assured RAM is 3GB. The new large-sized handset will be offered with 16GB storage or 32GB. It boasts a 13MP main camera on the back and a 2MP snapper set on the front. The connectivity possibilities of the model include LTE 2/3/4/5/7/12/13/17/25/26/29/41 bands. The cell of the smartphone is a 3220mAh battery.
Google revealed more details about the availability. The Nexus 6 will be ready for pre-orders in the last days of October. The launch date is expected to be in the beginning of November. The costs for the model with 32GB are $649 while the 64GB phablet will be available for $699. The tablet Nexus 9 with 16GB will be offered for sells at price of $399 for the 16GB model, $479 for the device with 32GB and $599 for the LTE-enabled slate with 32GB. The pre-orders for Nexus 9 begin on 17th of October.
