One of the latest smartphones announced by HTC is the extraordinary model packed with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip with 64-bit architecture, the HTC Desire 820. Recent rumors suggested that the Taiwanese manufacturer is planning to introduce a modest variant of the Desire 820 that boasts lower-end capabilities and specs. The gossips turned out to be true. The HTC Desire 820 mini enters the mobile arena in China. It is provided with a smaller screen than the 5.5-inch glass of the original device. Desire 820 mini comes with a 5-inch display with 720p resolution. In the gut of the new handset is working a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip. It works with 1GB RAM on board.
In terms of native memory the Desire 820 mini assures 8GB that can be expanded with microSD cards. The platform that runs on the hardware is Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense UI on it. The pair of cameras armored in the phone includes a primary snapper with 8MP set on the back side and a 5MP camera on the front. The mid-ranger supports loads of connectivity features, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G and LTE. The battery of HTC Desire 820 mini is with 2100mAh capacity. The phone is offered in several color variants – orange, blue, white and black. It boasts front-facing speakers similar to the Desire 820. The new device supports dual-SIM.
Desire 820 mini is officially launched in China. It is offered by the retailer Tmall – one of the major online merchants on the market. The phone costs 1399 yuan (around $228) without commitment with a carrier. Just for a comparison, the original smartphone Desire 820 is available for purchase for $100 more. For now the new phone is up-for-sales only in China. The company has not shared more information about expansion of the availability of the device.
