One of the most interesting rumors lately is for the first smartphone of HTC equipped with octa-core CPU with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 chip with 64-bit architecture. The handset is part of the Desire series and it appeared in several leaks under the name HTC Desire 820. The device is expected to debut at IFA in a few days. However a new leak from one of the famous gossipers on Twitter @upleaks reveals a bit different list of the specs of the device.
The main difference from the information that leaked from Weibo days ago is in the hardware. According to @upleaks the HTC Desire 820 is armored with a 5.5-inch screen with a resolution of 720p. The size of the display puts in the category “phablet.” It comes with a 13MP snapper on the rare panel paired with an 8MP camera on the front. It works with a 2600mAh battery. Interesting the processor mentioned in the new leak is with four cores with Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 MSM8916 chip. The HTC Desire 820 overall is based on the currently available model HTC Desire 510. The mentioned chip in the leak is exactly the silicon that powers the Desire 510. The model has 1.5GB RAM and 8GB native memory.
The speculations about the different information in the leaks suggest that there might be two variants of the new phone. If this theory turns out to be true, it means that the Snapdragon 615-powered device is purposed for the Asian markets. The other option is that one of the leaks is not authentic. Rumors say that HTC is working on two smartwatches as well. The gadgets might debut at IFA in the beginning of September. The codenames of the smartwatches are HTC CWZ and HTC WWY. We will wait and see what names the Taiwanese manufacturer will announce for the devices, if they ever debut, of course.
