The French manufacturer Archos officially launched its newest budget handsets 50b Platinum and 45c Platinum. Both smartphones share similar specs and capabilities and are offered at affordable price. The low-end devices run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
Archos 50b Platinum is the larger handset from the duo. It boasts a 5-inch qHD IPS glass with a resolution of 540 x 960p. Under the hood of the entry-level phone works a quad-core processor 1.3GHz with MediaTek MT6582 chip and 512MB RAM. The provided internal memory is the modest 4GB. Fortunately it can be expanded with microSD cards. The platform running on 50b Platinum is Android 4.4. It boasts an 8MP camera on the rare side which can record video with 1080p resolution. On the front side is set a 2 MP camera for selfies and video calls. The connectivity options provided in the 50b Platinum include Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS and Bluetooth. It comes with 1900mAh battery on board. It is available for $119 off-contract. The model supports dual-SIM. The main color version of 50b Platinum is black.
Archos 45c Platinum is packed with a smaller screen with 4.5-inch diagonal. It has FWVGA resolution. In terms of specs the “little brother” has a lot of the capabilities and the features of the larger device. It also runs on 4.4 KitKat. The CPU is ticking at 1.3GHz with four course and MediaTek chipset. The 45c Platinum has 4GB storage which is expandable. The duo of cameras included in the model consists of a 5MP snapper on the back and 2MP shooter on the face panel. It works with 1700mAh battery in its gut. It costs $99 and comes in more colorful options than its sibling. Users can buy the 45c Platinum in metallic blue, black and spicy pink. Just like the 50b Platinum, the 45c Platinum support dual-SIM.
