One of the big players on the mobile arena in Europe is the French manufacturer Archos. The company is well known on the market for its budget smartphones and devices with mid-ranged capabilities. Archos has just unveiled its newest addition, the flagship 50 Diamond. The device sports more high-end specs than the majority of the smartphones of the company. It is the first device of Archos equipped with an octa-core Snapdragon 615 chip with 64-bit architecture.
The new handset stands-out with an appealing design. It is outfitted with a compact panel with dimensions 146 x 70.4 x 8 mm. The phone weighs 142 grams.
The screen of Archos 50 Diamond is with 5-inch diagonal and a resolution of 1920 x 1800 pixels. The phone runs on Android. The update pre-installed on the flagship is 4.4 KitKat. However it is expected that the model will be updated with the newest Android 5.0 Lollipop. The provided RAM in the device is 2GB. Archos 50 Diamond boasts 16GB memory. The battery that assures juice to the phone is a 2700mAh cell under the hood.
On the backplate of the flagship is set a 16MP snapper. It has LED flash. On the front panel is provided a 8MP camera for video calls. Archos 50 Diamond supports Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, LTE etc. It is a dual-SIM device. Archos will release the new phone in Q1 2015. The exact launch date and price of the new flagship are not revealed yet. The expectations for the price suggest that it will be around $200 for the unlocked device.
