The Redmi K50i, a version of the Redmi Note 11T Pro, is released in India

In China this May, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 11T Pro and Redmi Note 11T Pro Plus. The devices were excellent choices for price-conscious mobile gamers because they came with 144Hz high refresh rate LCD displays and MediaTek’s Dimensity 8100 processor. One of these gadgets has recently been introduced by Xiaomi to the Indian market under the name Redmi K50i.

A rebranded Redmi Note 11T Pro with the same hardware is the new Redmi K50i. Since Xiaomi hasn’t changed the design of the device either, it is virtually impossible to tell it from from the Chinese version. In light of this, if you are already familiar with the Chinese Redmi Note 11T Pro, you probably already know what to anticipate from the upcoming Redmi K50i. If not, here is a brief summary.

The SoC is coupled with a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD screen that refreshes at 144Hz, a 5,080mAh battery with 67W fast charging capabilities, and 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of quick UFS 3.1 storage. This spec combination makes it an excellent choice for mobile gamers on a budget.

The Redmi K50i’s cameras consist of a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL GW1 primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 16MP selfie camera on the front. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner, twin stereo speakers, an IR blaster, a 3.5mm headphone socket, and IP53 certification for dust and water resistance are a few further interesting features.

The Redmi K50i supports twelve 5G bands and has MediaTek Dimensity-powered 5G capabilities as well. It also has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and 4G LTE compatibility. The smartphone, however, does not support NFC like its Chinese equivalent.

The Redmi K50i comes pre-installed with MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12. According to Xiaomi, the device will receive two years of Android updates and three years of security patches. This indicates that Xiaomi will release an Android 13 update later this year.
