The smartwatch Samsung Gear S was officially launched on some markets across the globe in August. The Korean phone-maker just unveiled the news that the model is coming to the US very soon. The launch date of the Gear S is 7th of November, Friday. It will be available for purchase in the biggest retailers and carriers, including Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T and Best Buy. It will be up-for-grabs in the Samsung Experience Shops, too. The new smartwatch is equipped with a 2-inch Super AMOLED display. The resolution of the glass of the device is 360 x 480p. It is the smartwatch with largest screen on the market nowadays. The advanced timepiece is powered by a dual-core CPU ticking at 1GHz and paired with 512MB RAM. It is provided with 4GB native memory. The body of Samsung Gear S is dust- and water-resistant with IP67 certificate. The smartwatch is provided with 300mAh cell. The platform that operates on the device is Tizen OS. It is the first smartwatch of Samsung that supports making calls aka cellular connectivity.
Most of the carriers have already announced the deals for Samsung Gear S and the plans. T-Mobile will launch the device on 9th of November. Verizon Wireless is ready to offer the device for $349.99 off-contract.
The mobile operator AT&T will sell the smartwatch on 7th of November. The price for the Gear S is $199.99 with two-year contract. Users can take advantage from the possibility to add the smartwatch to the Mobile Share Plan that will increase the monthly payments to $10.
