BLU has great surprise for its fans – 7 new smartphones took the spotlight at CES 2015 in Las Vegas. If we have to describe the whole group of new additions with few words – they are Android-running affordable smartphones with low-end to mid-ranged specs and the potential to satisfy the expectations of mobile users for basic devices.
BLU Vivo Air costs only $199 unlocked. It is fascinates with an Super AMOLED screen with 4.8-inch diagonal, 720p resolution. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is provided on top of the display. If the device seems familiar to you, it is because the specs and the appearance of the newly announced smartphone remind a lot to the Gionee Elife S5.1. BLU has the tradition to offer Gionee’s models under its brand. Vivo Air is very slim – only 5.1mm thick. In the slick panel of the device is found octa-core processor MediaTek MT6592 chip working at 1.7GHz with 1GB RAM. The native memory packed in BLU Vivo Air is 16GB. It has two cameras – a 5MP front snapper and a 8MP rare sensor. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. The phone works with 2100mAh battery. It is expected to get released this month.
Next in line of new smartphones is the BLU Studio Energy assured with a 5-inch, 720p screen, with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The hardware working in its belly includes a CPU with four cores MediaTek 6582 chip. Android 4.4 KitKat is the platform running out-of-the-box. There are 1GB RAM and 8GB native memory (expandable). It is assured with a 8MP shooter on the back side and a 2MP sensor on front. The BLU Studio Energy has an impressive source of energy – a 5000mAh battery that can keep the device running for 4 days in normal use. The phone will be available to buy in the last days of January at price of $179.
BLU introduced three more handsets working with MediaTek processors. The trio that is powered by a quad-core CPU 1.3GHz with MediaTek MT6582 chip consists of: BLU Studio X (5-inch, 720p at price of $129), BLU Studio X Plus (5.5-inch, 720p at price of $149) and the BLU Studio G (5-inch, 854x480p, costs $89).
The smartphones working with Snapdragon chips include the BLU Life One and the BLU Life One XL. The duo is arrives with quad-core CPU with 64-bit, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chip 1.2GHz and 1GB RAM. They are Android 4.4 KitKat-powered handsets. The new devices boast 13MP back camera and a 5MP front camera. The smartphones are LTE-enabled. The main differences in the models are the sizes of the screens. BLU Life One has a 5-inch, 720p display while the BLU Life One XL features 5.5-inch glass, also 720p. The smaller device costs $179. The phablet will be offered at $199 when they are launched in March.
