CES 2015 brought four new Alcatel-branded devices to the tech arena. The three smartphones are the new additions to the Alcatel OneTouch POP 2 line and come in with different sizes and similar specs. The tablet introduced by the company dubbed Alcatel OneTouch POP 10.
The most compact smartphone from the trio is the Alcatel OneTouch POP 2 4. Its name matches the size of the screen – a 4-incher, 800 x 480p. It boasts swappable backplates. It is a decent entry-level model with a quad-core CPU 1.2GHz with 64-bit architecture and Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset. Ready-to-use on the device is pre-installed Android 4.4 KitKat. Its rare panel keeps a 5MP while its front side has a 0.3MP sensor. The OneTouch POP 2 4 works with a 2000mAh cell. It supports LTE in terms of connectivity and dual-SIM capabilities. Alcatel has a nice surprise for users of the Microsoft’s platform – a Windows Phone 8.1 OS-powered version of the same model. It sports the same specs as its Android-running sibling.
Alcatel OneTouch POP 2 4.5 is slightly larger than the 4-incher and is announced with a 4.5-inch, 854 x 480p display. Hardware-wise we find the same processor as the CPU equipped in the more compact handset as well as the same connectivity capabilities. The software of the 4.5-incher is Android 4.4 KitKat. The battery of the phone is a 2000mAh cell. The camera on the back panel of the handset is with 5MP with LED flash paired with a 0.3MP sensor on the face side.
The largest new phone is Alcatel OneTouch POP 2 5 Premium. It has a 5-inch screen, 720p resolution. The handset features the same processor as the rest device of the trio. The software of the model however is the latest update of the Google’s platform – Android 5.0 Lollipop. The main camera of the device is with 8MP coupled with a 2MP front-facing snapper. It also supports 4G LTE connectivity. The battery of the 5-incher is with a capacity of 2500mAh.
The newly announced tablet from the company is dubbed Alcatel OneTouch POP 10 equipped with a 10-inch IPS display. The panel of the slate is ultra-thin – just 7.9mm and weighs 400 grams. The OneTouch POP 10 can be converted into a laptop thanks to the easy-to-use accessory keyboard. In terms of specs the slate works with a quad-core CPU and boasts 8GB storage. It is 4G LTE-enabled. The major camera of the device is with 5MP accompanied by a 2MP front-facing camera.
